Tahini

Did we tell you that we're passionate about sesame? Well, we are, and it is not strangethat we have also started to love sesame products such as tahini. We produce our tahini from the seeds which we source ourselves directly from our farmers in Burkina Faso, a beautiful whitish seed with a sweetness to it which is unrivalled. Our tahini can be bough in bulk packaging, but we also offer private label and smaller packaging options to tailor even the smallest needs. It is our goal to support the hard work and devotion which the farmers of Burkina Faso put in their product by showing the world how tasteful their seeds, and thus even tahini made from their seeds, just is.

Tahini is made from sesame seeds that are soaked in water and then crushed to separate the bran from the kernels. The crushed seeds are soaked in salt water, causing the bran to sink. The floating kernels are skimmed off the surface, toasted, and ground to produce an oily paste. It can also be prepared with untoasted seeds and called "raw tahini", which is sometimes sold as an organic food product
